2016 Was A Very Busy Year!

Together with Food Bank Manager Jeannie Doty, our amazing volunteers (donating a monthly average of 217 hours) continue to handle all of the day-to-day functions and product acquisitions required to keep things running smoothly. Each month we serve about 375 households with food staples plus fresh produce, and other staples such as toilet paper, soap and shampoo that we have not been able to supply in the past.

We continue to partner with groups like Northwest Harvest and The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), obtain appropriate grants, coordinate regular food and monetary contributions from local businesses and farmers, collect nonperishable donations, and use appropriate wholesale resources.  And we proudly continue our financial relationship with the “Weekend Packs for Kids” program.

Of course, we could not do all of this without YOU!  Half of the food and money we receive is from our incredible Orcas community. Our clients often have to make impossible decisions between rent, utilities, childcare, gas, medications and food. There are many ways you can help make these decisions easier. Go to the "How to Help" page on this site and take your pick of how you might be able to contribute funds, products or time to our Food Bank!

The OIFB Board Members and the families who benefit from your generosity thank you deeply for your continued support!
